Today, I was wondering about love. Or, what people say it is. One of my friends told me this, "If you don't love someone, you're only half a person. the other half comes once you love. . . Together, you're whole. And that's when you become who you really are. They help you that way, and that's how you survive; On each other."
Now, that’s not a direct quote, but it was enough to get me thinking, and for it to stick in my mind. He told me that about a week ago, and we were having this whole debate on whether it exists or not. I, personally, don’t believe in love. At all. If it did exist, our lives would be so much more different then they are right now at this very moment.
People say love makes the world go round, but it doesn’t. Whoever started that should know that there’s a thing called gravitational force/pull out there in the universe. They, obviously, weren’t very smart. Now, I know that that may be a metaphor or whatever you’d like to call it, but seriously. . . We may as well be pretty thick in the head to believe that stuff.
"Love is always patience and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offence and is never resentful." Corinthians 13:4
That quote from the Bible is so absolutely true, that it’s ridiculous! In real life that can’t happen. You can’t love someone like that because it’s impossible. You have to be perfect, and no in the world can accomplish that by a mile.
I would believe in love if we were perfect, but we aren’t. Just a word I’ve been wanting to get out.
